01Abstract
Space exploration is often perceived as something reserved for scientists, engineers, and astronauts. This proposal establishes a Nordic Ambassador framework to challenge that perception — showing Scandinavians that citizen science, space participation, and the future of humanity beyond Earth is accessible to everyone. Norway has Andøya Space, ESA membership, and a population deeply connected to nature and exploration. SERA has the platform. Together we can build Scandinavia's most engaged space
02The problem
Despite Scandinavia's strong scientific culture and space heritage, most Norwegians believe space is "not for them." They think you need to be an astronaut, a physicist, or work for NASA. SERA has 140,000+ members globally but minimal structured Nordic presence. The space community here is fragmented — no hub exists to connect curious people, students, offshore professionals, and nature lovers who would participate if they only knew they could. This is a missed opportunity for both SERA and for Scandinavian society.
03What we need
SERA support to officially establish a Nordic Ambassador role. Community platform access, promotional materials, and recognition as regional representative. The goal is not to create an elite space club — it is to lower the barrier so that a nurse in Tromsø, a fisherman in Bergen, or a student in Stockholm feels welcome in the future of space exploration.
